Moundridge wins 2a volleyball

A year after finishing second in Class 2A, the Moundridge Wildcats won their eighth state title and first since 2006.

After having two matches go to three games in pool play Friday, the Wildcats had a relatively easy time in Saturday's matches at Gross Coliseum in Hays.

Moundridge defeated Lebo 25-15, 25-20 in the championship match after taking out Valley Heights 25-22, 25-20 in the semifinal.

The Wildcats (36-9) finished the year with only one loss against a 2A opponent.
