Andale’s Mies wins title at Class 4A

Andale senior Tyler Mies beat Rose Hill’s Jake Wilson 5-3 in the 138-pound championship match Saturday at the Class 4A wrestling tournament in Salina.

Mies’ title helped Andale to a seventh-place finish in the team standings. He finished third at 120 last season.

Pratt’s Cesar Regalado, a returning champion, won the championship at 120 pounds Saturday, beating Mulvane’s Anthony Scantlin 2-1 in the title match.

Regalado was one of two returning champions to win again. Jefferson West’s Justin Scott won the 285 crown. Two others lost in the finals — Prairie View’s Kaleb Konitzer at 145 and Concordia’s Skyler Hittle at 195.

At 170, Smoky Valley’s Austin Cook beat Atchison’s Tyler Harris 8-4 in a battle of undefeated wrestlers.

At 132, Winfield’s Trevor Smith beat El Dorado’s Dacota Motter 11-2 in final.

Class 3-2-1A — The tournament produced a pair of four-time champions in Fredonia’s Brogan Humphrey (138) and Rossville’s Tagen Lambotte (152).

Humphrey beat Horton’s Alec Hager 15-6 in the final. He finished with a 42-1 record in his senior season.

Lambotte (45-1) defeated Centralia’s Andrew Beck 4-3. Lambotte pinned his three previous opponents in the tournament.
