Holton leads in 4A title hunt, area wrestlers up for titles

Holton had a comfortable lead in the race for the Class 4A state title with 85 points to second-place Colby’s 51.5 after Friday’s semifinals at Hartman Arena in Park City.

Andale was in seventh place with 36 points.

The finals are highlighted by two pairs of area wrestlers competing for state titles. At 132 pounds, El Dorado’s Dacota Motter will square off against Winfield’s Trevor Smith.

At 138, Andale’s Tyler Mies is in the finals and will face Rose Hill’s Jake Wilson, who defeated Mulvane’s Connor Penka 8-7.

In the upper weights, Buhler’s John Yates will face Ulysses’ Otto Orosco in the 220-pound final.
