Boys roundup: McPherson’s Kinnamon wins 400th game

Kyler Kinnamon scored 24 points for McPherson and helped his father, Kurt Kinnamon, win his 400th career game in a 71-43 victory at Rose Hill on Tuesday night.

McPherson is 18-1, 10-0 in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division III, in Kinnamon’s 19th season. Spenser Wine had 18 points for the Bullpups.

Alek Santo had 18 points to lead Rose Hill.

City League

Kapaun 60, Northwest 44 — Kapaun’s Thomas O’Connor led all scorers with 24 points as the Crusaders rolled to the win. Cortez Carr led the Grizzlies with 11 points.

Four-year Northwest manager Ian Pierce started for the Grizzlies. Pierce, a special-education student, was in for about the first 30 seconds and missed a three-pointer that went in and out. Pierce went back in for the final minute of the game and connected on a layup.

East 64, South 51 — Xavier Kelly and Samajae Jones had 16 points each for the visiting Blue Aces (18-1), who can complete an unbeaten City League schedule with a victory over Southeast on Thursday. Kaden Griffin had 19 points to lead South (9-11, 7-9).

Carroll 70, West 42 — Luke Hohl had 17 points and Matt Price had 11 for Carroll. Caleb Farris had 15 points to lead West.

AV-CTL

Andale 58, Clearwater 41 — Andale clinched the Division IV title with 23 points from Lane Macari. Jeffery Ast added 15 for Andale, while Johnny Becker had 15 and Devin Roth 14 for Clearwater.

Andover 65, Valley Center 51 — Adam DeKoning had 25 points in the Trojans’ victory. Andover led 31-15 at halftime and got 18 points from Austin Brown. Valley Center’s Jason Barbour had 21 points.

Goddard 49, Arkansas City 42 — Tucker Vang had 20 points to lead the Lions at home. Skyler Bryant had 16 points to lead Ark City.

Augusta 62, Wellington 54 — The Orioles sealed Division IV’s second place with the road victory, getting 19 poitns from Sean Brandenburg. Trevor Nance led Wellington with 27 points.

Mulvane 61, Buhler 48 — Guner Lampe had 23 points and Collin Dempsey 14 for the Wildcats at home.

Collegiate 67, Circle 50 — Kendall Reed had 13 points to lead four Spartans in double figures. Jack Larsen had 11, Cameron Christian and Brodey Dick 10 each. Circle was led by 13 each from Dylan Driver and Paul Richard.

El Dorado 61, Winfield 53 — Travis House had 26 points to lead visiting El Dorado to an overtime victory. Will Adler led Winfield with 24 points.

Salina South 76, Campus 59 — Noah Moody had 14 points for the Colts in the loss. Ryan Fox had 24 points and Trace Kochevar 20 for Salina South.

Central Plains League

Cheney 57, Medicine Lodge 56 — The Cardinals won an CPL road game in overtime. Tyler Amsink had 16 points, Cameron Hill 14 and Ty Patterson 12 for Cheney.

Douglass 59, Garden Plain 38 — Cody Holthaus scored 27 points as the Bulldogs remained tied atop the CPL with Trinity Academy with one game to go.
