Andover Central 49, Valley Center 7 Andover Central demolished Valley Center behind big games from a trio of performers at Valley Center. Andover Central quarterback Blake Meier was sharp, going 9 of 10 for 214 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Ryan Banwart twice for 102 yards and one score. On the ground, Lucas Milner chewed up the turf for 119 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries.
Maize South 35, Arkansas City 7 Arkansas City took a 7-0 lead in the first half, but Maize South backup quarterback Korie Frausto, who led Maize South to a touchdown in the first half, has broken and dislocated his left wrist. Frausto had replaced injured Maize South starting quarterback Chase Bell. Bell came back in after Frausto went out with his injury.
Augusta 33, Circle 20 Augustas Connor Hurst busted the game open with a pair of third-quarter touchdowns, scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run then following that minutes later with an 88-yard interception return to give the Orioles a 25-12 lead headed into the fourth quarter at Towanda. Jake Smith led Circle with 123 rushing yards and 89 passing yards. Smith scored two rushing touchdowns in the first half, including a 50-yard run to open the game. Smith also threw a touchdown pass to Paul Richard.
Buhler 42, Rose Hill 3 Visiting Buhler outscored Rose Hill 35-0 over the second and third quarters for a season-opening victory. Buhler running back Riley Allen started his senior season off with a bang by scoring three touchdowns two rushing and one receiving while running for 135 yards on 23 carries. Quarterback Luke Berbling was efficient for Buhler, going 5 of 6 for 71 yards.
Chanute 28, Mulvane 21 Mulvane battled turnovers two fumbles, four interceptions as it lost at Chanute. While driving late in the game to tie the score, Mulvane was intercepted for the second time.
Dodge City vs. Southeast Dodge City 44, Southeast 6 -- Dodge City's Blaik Middleton scored two touchdowns, while Kelan Newton threw for 192 yards in the win over Southeast.
Central Plains League
Cheney 43, Belle Plaine 0 Cheney had two 100-yard rushers in Tyler Trego (104) and Tyler Amsink (133) as the Cardinals sank visiting Belle Plaine. Amsink, who also had 78 yards passing, scored on an 85-yard touchdown run in the first half. Trego had a 60-yard touchdown run.
Conway Springs 62, Bluestem 0 Dakota Finstad rushed for 212 yards and Travis Wood ran for 145 as Conway shut out Bluestem. Wood, Finstad and Ben Pauly each ran for two touchdowns. Bluestem was held to 36 yards of offense.
Sedgwick 57, Olpe 35 Dalton Brandt scored five touchdowns and rushed for 187 yards as the host Cardinals breezed past Olpe. Sedgwick quarterback Brylie Ware completed 13 of 27 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
