After missing two basketball games because of a concussion, North senior Conner Frankamp will play against visiting Northwest on Tuesday night.

“He’s ready to go,” North coach Gary Squires said. “We’re all looking forward to getting him back playing with us.”

Frankamp, a Kansas signee, was injured on Jan. 18 while playing in the semifinals of the Dodge City tournament. While going up for a dunk on a fastbreak, Frankamp was fouled and fell face-first to the court. He had a one-inch cut on his left temple that needed 12 stitches. He was also diagnosed with a mild concussion.

Frankamp didn’t play the second half of North’s semifinal with Scott City nor did he play in the championship game, a loss to Shawnee Mission South. Frankamp also missed North’s 79-67 loss to West on Jan. 22.

He returned to practice on Wednesday.

“It was non-contact, a little shooting,” Squires said. “Then he got going on Thursday and Friday.”

Frankamp has 1,968 career points, 263 behind City League record-holder Perry Ellis. North, which has a one-game league lead over Kapaun and East, has eight regular-season games remaining and will finish the season with three straight at home.
