Collegiate got long touchdown plays from four players in the first half to bury Wellington 42-6 in an Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division IV game on Friday night at Collegiate.

Isiah Franklin (148 yards) had an 84-yard run in the first quarter, followed by Seth Carder’s 79-yard interception return. Markus Phox ran for an 80-yard score before the end of the period, then Landon Root’s 47-yard pass found Forrest Short in the second period.

Root added another touchdown pass and a 10-yard scoring run, finishing with 179 passing yards.

Wellington’s score was on a Tyler Clift 11-yard carry. Quarterback Trevor Nance had 128 passing yards.

AV-CTL

McPherson 44, Buhler 28 — McPherson quarterback Kyler Kinnamon completed 22 of 26 passes for 418 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions as the Bullpups handed Buhler its second straight loss. Marcus Houghton finished with five catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns for McPherson. Teammate Keaton Sorenson had six catches for 128 yards and one touchdown. Riley Allen led Buhler with 153 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Mulvane 42, El Dorado 7 — R.J. Reiger had 18 carries for 144 yards and a Mulvane touchdown, while QB teammate Ty Redington ran for 147 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in a road win.

Arkansas City 49, Eisenhower 0 — Quarterback Riley Dowler scored five rushing touchdowns and threw for two more in the Bulldogs’ home victory. Dowler finished with 110 rushing yards and 236 pass on 10 completions and 16 attempts.

Clearwater 28, Augusta 20 — John Becker rushed for 135 yards and caught three passes for 115 yards, scoring twice in the Indians’ road victory. Augusta led 12-7 at halftime but gave up three third-quarter touchdowns, including a 97-yard run by Chad Reibenspies, who had 132 rushing yards and 158 passing. Tristan Finch had two touchdown throws and 299 passing yards for Augusta. Orioles receiver Anthony Castillo caught six passes for 118 yards and a score.

Hutchinson 41, Newton 29 — Turner Wintz rushed for 115 yards and threw for 109 in the visiting Salthawks’ victory. Newton’s second-half rally fell short in the AV-CTL Division I game. Coleman Kingsley threw for 126 Railer yards and ran for 85.

Rose Hill 28, Winfield 12 — Rose Hill quarterback T.J. Slade only used one receiver on Friday, but that was all he needed. Slade, 9-of-16 passing for 153 yards and three touchdowns, completed all his passes to Bret Waddell, who finished with nine catches for 153 yards and three touchdowns as the Rockets topped visiting Winfield. Jonny Pearson ran for 155 yards and one touchdown for Rose Hill. Sam Camp passed for 199 yards for Winfield.

Andale 62, Circle 6 — Seven Indians scored touchdowns, including two each from Ben Seiler and Jared Smarsh. Four Andale players carried the ball for a total of 342 yards. Smarsh completed 5 of 6 throws for 121 yards. Circle’s Kaden Fowler completed 7 of 11 for 141 yards.

Valley Center 52, Sunrise 0 — The host Hornets won their first game behind two touchdown runs from Alex Wetig and a Garrett Reeves interception return. Braden Tormey had 85 rushing yards and a touchdown for Valley Center while Wetig had 73 yards on nine tries.

East 34, South 7 — Calil Burnett carried 11 times for 184 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Blue Aces, scored 27 unanswered points to cruise to 3-1. East’s defense held South to 175 offensive yards. Darius Taylor led the Titans with eight carries for 74 yards.

Great Bend 41, North 0 — The visiting Redskins stayed winless, giving up 35 first-half points to Great Bend. Zack Beard completed 5 of 7 passes for 74 yards, all to Titian Gonzales.
