Flinthills, Sedan advance in 2-1A baseball

Flinthills pounded out 11 runs on 12 hits to defeat Minneola-Ashland in Friday's Class 2-1A baseball quarterfinals at Emporia.

The Mustangs (17-5) take on undefeated Sedan in today's semifinal.

James Hinnen and Cougar Hefton doubled for Flinthills and Kyle Vogt picked up the win.

Sedan (24-0) outslugged Mission Valley 10-7 in its game, led by pitcher Brady McCoy, who also doubled.

Pittsburg Colgan stayed on track for its eighth straight championship with a 10-0 shutout of Leavenworth Immaculata.
