Class 4A, 3-2-1A: Andale takes command at 4A wrestling

With five wrestlers in today’s championship matches, Andale holds a commanding lead in team points at the Class 4A meet in Salina’s Bicentennial Center.

Andale, which won a state team title in 2006, scored 120½ points in Friday’s matches, 42½ points ahead of second-place Lenexa St. James.

Tyler Mies (103 pounds), Colton Eck (140), Levi Eck (145), Colton Duhr (152) and Jake Hattabaugh (160) won their semifinal matches Friday.

Hattabaugh is seeking his second title, while Duhr faces three-time champion Ryne Cokeley of St. James.

Levi Eck faces Augusta’s Nick Collins for the title in 145.

Smoky Valley’s Alex Wolf will attempt to finish his season unbeaten in 119.

Class 3-2-1A — Halstead’s Alex Thibault reached 140 final in Hays’ Gross Coliseum.

Douglass’ Colt Castlebury won his semifinal in 189.

Central-Burden has a pair of finalists: Ky Biddle in 145 and Tyler McMichael in 152. Central-Burden is sitting in sixth place after Friday’s matches.
