Class 3A was especially tough to pick, particularly on who to leave out.
I left out Collegiate in the top 5 and went with Hutchinson Trinity instead, simply based on who’s back and who’s gone.
In 5A, I wanted to get Bishop Miege in the top 5, but wasn’t willing to drop any of the others. I went with Hutchinson as the top team in 5A and No. 2 team overall, but I do think it’s possible Gardner-Edgerton wins 5A this year. That’s an awfully good team with the state’s best player, Bubba Starling, as its quarterback.
4A was pretty clear cut, even though there are so many good teams in that class.
