Notes

„øBaileyville returns five starters from last year’s championship team.

„øWith Huerter, the Falcons predominantly run the football.

„øBaileyville recorded six shutouts and averaged nearly 55, and their margin of victory was more than 30 points per game.

„øQuinter coach Greg Woolf was diagnosed with cancer the Tuesday before the Bulldogs lost to Sharon Springs. Woolf expects to coach Saturday, despite undergoing treatment earlier in the week at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

„øQuinter threw the ball four times in last week’s win over Clifton-Clyde.

„øThree of the Bulldogs’ offensive linemen weigh 230 pounds or more.

Baileyville coach Steve Tiernan: “Our kids’ stats aren’t great because the starters often came out of the game early. But I think that’s more of strength than a weakness because if we have an injury then we have

several kids who can come in and make plays.”

Quinter coach Greg Woolf: “I told the guys when I was diagnosed (with cancer) that they can’t use my condition as an excuse. We have goals no matter what has happened. I think I’ve gotten more strength from them than they have from me.”
